The
incredible Miss Pilkinson! The
concept behind this series is to
introduce young readers to different
cities and regions of Europe and the
world, their geography, their
monuments and the way of life of
their inhabitants. All this
without getting them bored, by
mixing such genres as witchcraft,
magic and intrigue. We will follow
the exciting adventures of three
extraordinary recurring characters :
Emma Pilkinson, an old eccentric
English lady with mysterious powers
and her nephew Jonathan, a young
Parisian aged 13. Not to mention the
mischievous Mister Tail, Miss Pilkinson's big cat who accompanies
her everywhere. Although the books
follow chronologically, each volume
can be read independently.

The second episode: Severe drought
in Venice!
We meet our heroes again in
London and follow them all the way
to Venice.
Miss Pilkinson goes looking for her
nephew, accompanied by her faithful
cat, Mister Tail, and the little
Samantha.
It is for us the opportunity to
visit Venice with Miss Pilkinson:
the Grand Canal, Saint Mark's
Basilica and the numerous churches
housing the works of the great
painters.
But of course, with Miss Pilkinson
being the good-willed but clumsy
magician that we know, this
holiday will be far from peaceful.
Especially when Venice is hit by an
unexpected drought, and when the
responsible could well be for a
small four-legged creature very
familiar to our Miss! |
